How much waste oil do I need to generate to justify buying a waste oil burner for my business?

• The average minimum volume of waste oil you should be generating every year is between 500 to 700 gallons. If you run short on waste oil, you can also burn #2 fuel oil in your Clean Burn furnace or boiler.

Doesn't a waste oil furnace produce black, sooty smoke and pollute the air?

• No. Clean Burn furnaces are recognized by the EPA as preserving clean air. They burn as cleanly as a #2 fuel-oil furnace. In fact, our waste oil furnaces can effectively burn #2 fuel oil in addition to waste oil.

Won't various viscosities of crankcase or transmission oil affect the combustion efficiency of my furnace?

• No. Because Clean Burn furnaces are designed specifically to burn waste oil, they can accommodate a range of oil viscosities, from 10W to 50W.

How often will I have to clean the ash from inside the furnace?

What is "cradle-to-grave" liability and how can it affect the way I dispose of waste oil?

• Cradle-to-grave liability is the liability you assume when you transport used oil. The federal government holds you directly and irrevocably responsible for pollution management, clean-up, and disposal control of waste oil. In other words, your liability for waste oil exists until it is burned (i.e. recycled).

Isn't it more convenient and less troublesome for me to contract with a hauler or refiner to transport my waste oil?

• When you contract with a hauler or refiner to transport your oil, you are giving away valuable fuel which could be transformed into an asset when used to generate free heat with a Clean Burn heating system.

Can you duct a waste oil furnace?

• Yes. All Clean Burn furnaces can be ducted and are UL approved to do so. Additionally, all of our waste oil burners are designed to be used individually or in combination with one another to be customized for the size and need of your space.
